Cerita Sedih cuuyyy

Someone broke into our house!

It was 4.00 a.m. on Monday morning. I was sleeping with the kids on the bed since Adik was not feeling too good. Abang was on another mattress in the same room. It was then that I heard some unfamiliar noise… it was as if someone else was in the house. My heart almost skipped a beat. I woke up Abang, and asked him to check things out. And he did. But he said, ‘takde apa-apa pun’. We went back to sleep.

After Fajr prayers, abang was looking for his handphone.

“Abang ingat… abang letak kat hujung tilam ni. Kat kepala. Cuba call.”

I did. But it went to the voicemail. I was beginning to feel uneasy. So we decided to go downstairs.

“Eh… mana beg abang? Abang letak kat sini tadi”

And that was when we realized that the bag was in the TV room, and it was open. His file (which contained some really important documents) was also open, and all the documents were scattered around. I ran upstairs to my kids’ room, and saw that all the drawers were open.

So, we called the police, filed a police report and we also had to repair the sliding door, since he ‘cut’ the lock. The Crime Investigation Department (JSJ) came to take photos and even tried to capture the fingerprints. It felt like a scene in CSI!

But, alhamdulillah. He (or she, I am not too sure!) only got my husband’s handphone. Apparently, the police told us that another house nearby was also broken into at 5.30 a.m. the same morning. The thief took some cash, and even removed a bracelet from the owner’s hand while she was sleeping. Scary!

I thank Allah for keeping my family safe. I thank Allah for giving me the hidayah to bring my laptop and handbag into my study room (which is always locked) the night before… because I usually will leave my valuables in the living room. I thank Allah for giving me the signal that someone was in my room and woke me up.

I suspect that he left right after I woke my husband up.

On the way to KL yesterday, we were talking about how thankful we are that the person did not touch any of us. My husband made a remark, “Rasanya mamat tu pun pikir sepuluh kali… kalau ambil rantai perempuan ni dan dia terjaga, mati aku kalau dihempapnya!”

We had a good laugh, and I said to him, “So, be thankful that your wife is gemuk dari orang lain!”

May Allah protect us and our families from harm.
